And whenever a verse comes to them, they say: "We will never believe until we are given the same as Lord Allah’s Messengers were given". Allah knows the best how to convey His Message; humility and severe punishment will affect those Mujirims because of what they were plotting.
Just like today’s Arabic Quran reading Fujjar who are the Mujirims by hiding and rejecting the Best Book Adhikr, the people during the Messenger's period had also told him that they will never believe with him until a miracle Sign is given to them just like what was given to previous Messengers. Through such questions, these wrongdoers are intending to plot against Lord’s Message Adhikr for obstructing mankind from It. But it causes humility and disgrace to them in this world as well as severe punishment in the Hereafter as explained in verse 2: 85. It is told in verse 10: 101 that no verses and warnings are useful for the people who do not believe. It is told in verse 17: 59 that Lord doesn’t send Signs except as a terror.
So the believer who accepts the Lord as the Impartial will not compel anyone to become a believer or disbeliever. He will help Lord by propagating Adhikr to entire worlds irrespective of nation or religion, and thus Lord will help him back as explained in verse 22: 40. It is told in verse 9: 32 that Lord will fulfill His Light Adhikr even though the disbelievers hate It. See explanation 3: 183; 4: 73, and 6: 109-110.
